The New England Carpenters Training Center is jointly sponsored by unions and building contractors. The New England Carpenters Training Center through its programs offers training in construction skills for apprentices and journeymen throughout New England.
The collective bargaining agreements between the New England Regional Council of Carpenters (and its affiliated local unions) and the employers’ associations specify the procedure and the amount contributed by the employers on the Union members behalf to support the Program.
The New England Carpenters Training Fund is administered by the New England CarpentersTraining Fund’s fourteen (14) member Board of Trustees; seven (7) Trustees represent contributing employers and seven (7) Trustees represent the Union. The Trustees determine the subject matter of the courses and the frequency with which they are offered in a cooperative effort with the various Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committees throughout New England. The goals of the Trustees are to increase safety, increase skills and encourage work advancement.
THE PROGRAM MEETS NATIONAL STANDARDS OF APPRENTICESHIP AND IS ALSO APPROVED BY THE COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS DIVISION OF APPRENTICE TRAINING.
Division of Apprentice Training, has expressed to the Board of Trustees of the New England Carpenters Training Fund its enthusiastic support and encourages its use in the training of apprentices.
